   How can I create a facebook transport with Pidgin or Jitsi.
   I have tried both clients but I cannot find something like service discovery in those.
   Also, how long will such a transport persist?
   Is there a timeout or something like this?

   You need to setup Facebook first to allow XMPP chat first. Then you create an transport account. Your username is: facebookuser@chat.facebook.com
