Account

You can use our web based tools to register an account, change and reset the password for an account, add or change an email address linked to an account or delete an existing account from our server. Also you can pre-register for our transport services.

Register an account

Our XMPP/Jabber server software supports in-band registration through the clients, but we disabled it. This feature is heavily abused by spammers. You need to use our web based registration form.

To register you have to choose a username and a domain on our server. This combination forms your Jabber ID (JID) over which you are reached in the Jabber network by other users. The JID looks a bit like a e-mail address, e.g. username@jabber.hot-chilli.net.

You can choose whatever username you like (if not already taken by other users), as domain you can choose from the following public domains:

  • jabber.hot-chilli.net
  • jabber.hot-chilli.eu
  • hot-chilli.net
  • hot-chilli.eu
  • im.hot-chilli.net
  • im.hot-chilli.eu
  • jabb3r.de
  • jabb3r.org
  • jabber-hosting.de
  • xmpp-hosting.de

It is completely optional but we suggest that you enter an e-mail address which later can used for password recovery and also helps us to make sure that you really are the owner of an account in the case of a problem. Please note that we will not reset the password for your account and send it to some given e-mail address as we cannot assure that is is really you and really your account. We will only send the password to the e-mail address entered when creating the account or when added or changed later. Also please assure that the e-mail address is always valid. You need to change the e-mail address of you account if the old e-mail address is no longer valid.

Change your password

Please use our web based change password form to change the password of an account.

Reset your password

Please use our web based reset password form to reset the password of an account.

Add/change e-mail address

Please use our web based e-mail form to add an e-mail address to an account or change it.

Remove your account

Please use our web based removal form to delete an account from our server.

Transport pre-registration

Please use our web based pre-registration form to create a pre-registration to use transport services on our Jabber server. After pre-registration you will be able to register your JID on our transport services for 31 days. Then you need to pre-register your JID again.
Please note: For using our transport services after registration you do not need to pre-register again. This is only needed if you want to register for another transport service or change something on an existing one (which includes unregistering the transport service as well).

I have tried severally to login to my account on iPhone but it’s never letting me so what do you suggest

please i use iphone and i try to login to the cisco apple downloaded from the app store but it doesnt allow me to login my account on cisco my e*******@jabber.hot-chilli.net is not recognized says the cisco jabber application

It depends on how the recipient handles messages from people not in his/her roster. In most clients you can set this to accept or deny.

Pls I forgot where to login my jabber… And how to create my recover my password.

You need a recovery mail address set for your account if you want to reset the password. Go to our web form to reset the password. A reset link will be sent to your recovery mail address. If there is no or an invalid mail address you cannot reset your password.

You can log into your XMPP account with whatever XMPP client is available. Gajim for Windows/Linux for example. Or Conversations on Android.
The easiest way is our webclient, available here our website.
I do not know what an OTP code is. If it is something sent to your Jabber account from an external service you registered you also will be able to see that message in any client as described above.

I cannot access the Jabber server. I it keeps asking me for my password. I have tried to reset my password twice tonight and it is still not working.

I can see the password reset requests and also that you resetted the password. A mail with the new password should be in your inbox. As I have checked the procedure successfully after the last upgrade I am pretty sure that it works. If it does not work for you please contact me again.

inline registration in Psi+ provides a captcha url and form field toenter solution

My login stopped working today. I am not sure why. It looks like my password is failing all of a sudden.

I have the same registration problem as miniman. Anybody can help? I got

Inband registration with Miranda IM also doesn’t work.

You can create an account with our “Jabber Registration Tool” or within a Jabber client which supports in-band registration, which most do.
